This beautiful country manor, designed by the renowned Robert McGoodwin, was built for the scion of this family, George Woodward, in 1914. Woodward's personal residence is extraordinary. Large, inviting, gracious, but not stuffy, Its architecture has stood the test of time. The square footage is large (9458), and the property is more than two acres, but still the home has an intimate feel that melds with the surrounding gardens. There are seven bedrooms, four full baths, and three half baths (one near the front door, one off the kitchen, and one off the 2nd floor game room), a swimming pool, a large two-car garage with apartment in its second story, many fireplaces, many French doors, three+ patios (one covered), and a driveway that runs from Allen's Lane to Mt. Finishing up the second story are three more bedrooms, another full bath, an exercise room (located through one of the bedrooms) which was likely the summer sleeping porch when the house was first built, and a large game room.
